Familia

Hey Guys, so these past few weeks have been very hectic for me because my family came to visit. When they arrived we traveled to Sevilla so that I could share all of the information that I had learned over the past two spring orientations. We also went to Segovia for a day trip as well as Toledo (which are two recommended cities! If you look into some of my older posts I explain about them, because I also went last year) We also were able to meet up for lunch with some old friends of ours and take part in the Madrileña life!! Now that they are safely at home it is time to focus on Midterms because they exams are this week… So I’ll post more after they’re over!

France!

Just a quick note…

I went to Strasbourg, France to visit my best friend who is studying there and it is an incredible quaint town the many people do not seem to know about. The town houses the European Parliament Building as well as the Council of Europe Building! I will try to post some pictures but they did not come out that great because it was night time but I hope you enjoy them!

Ski Team

Hi Everyone! Recently we had a ski trip to the Pyrenees Mountains which was a lot of fun. We were able to see the amazing slopes that border our beloved Spain with its neighbor France as well as partake in a little bit of culture that seems to be a mix from the two countries! While there we skied, went bowling, rented skates and went ice skating as well as see some historic places around the city of Jaca. It was a lot of fun and now around school people tend to hear us talk about the incredible SUMC Ski Team (although it was just for fun). We were able to meet a lot of people including some Spanish students who come from a neighboring university. Hopefully when you come to Madrid you will decide to go on the trip as well because even for people who have never skied before it was a blast! Here are some pictures that we took…

Welcome Back

Hey Guys,
Sorry for the long delay, after having some computer problems as well as a busy start to the semester, I have become a bit behind on my blogging, but don't worry I have some more things to post up in the coming weeks that I think you will enjoy. So where to begin?!?!?

Ok so the semester started a few weeks ago, and right away we all went to Sevilla, the historic capital of Andalucia (or Al-Andalus, as it was once called years ago by the Moorish people who settled there)! While there we visited the Cathedral, the Royal Palaces and the ancient city of Italica! All in all it was very fun and I was able to meet a lot of the new students, whom I am now friends with. While in Sevilla we also attended a Flamenco Show which was incredible and I recommend it to anyone. We ended up going to a show in "La Casa de la Memoria" which is located in Sevillas "Barrio de Santa Cruz" in the 'old' part of town with its narraw winding streets and centuried-old architecture. The flamenco show lasted about an hour, and when I say it was something that takes your breath away, I mean it! The way that the music and dances went together, it was as if we were not in this world any more. Something special in Sevilla was the "DO SEVILLE" tour that was organized by Suffolk's Student Affairs department. Although only a few of us ended up participating, I think everyone would agree with me that it was soooooooo much fun. After walking through the Plaza de Espana, We rented bikes and took them around the park to see various sections of Andalucian culture. Dean Royo, Professor Gonzalez, and Professor Martinez came with us as well, and we all had a blast! Then it was time to return back to Madrid and classes began... I also have to tell you about the Ski Trip to the Pyrenees Mountains that I went on the last weekend of January, as well as my trip to Strasbourg, France to visit one of my friends, but I am going to save those for later this week so as to not overload you with information. Ha ha ha...
